Aah Serendipity!

Twisted, twirled, itched with curiosity, all that while ago
I embarked on this beautiful course of life, albeit perilous
But rampant and unassuming, with a clean mind and a cleaner heart
Discovered things in me that I thought not existed and  unheard of
Cogitated extravaganzas while wandering our Universe, by far alone
With lust sometimes and with divinity most often but passionate always
Flipping, falling, tumbling, back breaking adventures and errands
Some sensible some not so, whilst making me smile nonetheless
Realized I dint have to understand but just have to have faith
Faith in the emotion for that was too strong to have been put down
There were replacements, compromises one too many, I held with grace
My sandcastles deconstructed and reconstructed, yet crumbled and failed
Inspite of victories intermmediate, I have failed to see hope in
Only saw shadows of what I wanted; Hazy ones at that with cruel uncertainity
Now feels like an unwanted course, I embarked upon when spontaneity got better
Aah Serendipity! Show yourself. If you are listening, just tell me is this right?

One day this shall pass!

One day this too shall pass,
to it’s rightful owner.
For I’m merely a presenter,
and perhaps the keeper.
Till it reaches it’s owner
I shall continue to ponder
over things I have no control whatsoever

The memories are revisited
emotions contained, moments reminisced
and that  big blush on the face retained
whilst an irreparable winter evening

that you chose to convey the irreparable!

One day this too shall pass
to it’s rightful owner.
For I’m merely a presenter
and perhaps the keeper.

not non sequitur, much?

My oh my!

Raindrops, dew, breeze and mist,
The early dawn and the wind flirting at it.
The snow of solitude and the silver white in the sky,
Ye first met, that beautiful morning
As gorgeous as it was, Ye emerged the victor;
Nay! the undisputed victor.
Lost of words; Adoring you along with me,
My oh my! the earth stood still

Now, I sit out with dimmed eyes,
near the cold doorstep
by the world forgot, and the world forgotten
Then I see a passing breeze
One hark and I heard people sush-ing

And then, a sign of solitude
a momentary respite
Like a bliss, a charm from the heavens
Here comes  rain, to make my day
This breathtaking exuberance
Oh my oh my! reminds me of you!

What irony I’ve succumbed to! OR beauty?

That Naked Girl

That naked girl
Leaning on me as we rest
with her fingers on my chest
And her eyes fixed on mine

Beside the bedlight
Lightening her forehead, hair, lips and jaw
Out walks cheap desire
Out walks lust

Divine worship, like they say
Feeling good about everything I’ve done
There I stay nonchalant
with my arms around her

Ah! if only she knew
how I felt, in her grip
Even if she was made of rage
I could worship her no less

Then it passes, the moment
I rub my eyes and wake up
Something is a stirr, something is a miss
For my naked girl was just a dream.

To all the Interviewers out there

Final year in college or fresh from college without a job and a fucked up future is the worst place to be. And as if that’s not enough every interview you go to, you are embarrassed, picked up on and sometimes even yelled at, sigh! This is a little something back at the interviewers, my two cents!

1) Tell me about yourself?

Um, 5 feet 9 inches, brown skinned, two eyes, two ears and a nose to match.

2) What do you want out of your life?

Aah well. An Oscar, Jennifer Aniston and a time machine

3) What is the difference between you and the others who have come for the interview?

Clearly I dont think you understand that the others haven’t cleared the initial rounds and I have.

4) What would you do if some company offers you a better pay cheque?

Ask yourself, seriously

5) Are you a team player?

No. I just fake that I’m. Actually I do everything on my own. Recently I discovered that Aliens can sing, all alone!

6) What do you find is the most interesting about your job?

Duh! the fact that I don’t have to take pocket money from my dad and can peacefully turn off my resume status on Naukri and Monster maybe..

7) Your weaknesses?

I am a secret scientist and an exceptionally talented professional. I’m learning to overcome this. :|

8) Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Um well, let me see. Will be selling condoms on Internet and will give sack to the founders and take over the company

9) Are you an honest bloke?

Oh hell I’m. (What do you expect me to say anyway. duh!)

10) What is your expected CTC?

Like you are gonna pay me how much ever I ask for, eh?

11) Do you have any questions for us?

Yea. Is everyone in the company so stupid or is the company just unfortunate to have you on board?

A Few things to remember…

1. When someone uses you and doesn’t give you the due credit. Don’t be sad, don’t get dejected. Go up to ‘em and say, “Screw you”.

2. Chase your dreams and yours alone, not your parent’s, not your friend’s, not your lover’s.

3. God wanted the human race to be happy so he created Pizzas, Cokes and Jennifer Aniston – Not necessarily in the order though!

4. Politicians are neither cat persons nor dog persons, they are just pigs.

5. Some managers don’t even know how to play Solitaire but still pose as if they are playing it, every time you go to meet ‘em.

6. Always remember, friendship is the act of being ok with someone eating your pizza.

7. Guys value di*ks more than brains. The first di*k guard in cricket was introduced in 1900s while helmets were introduced in 1970s.

8. There is no better feeling than getting to know about that girl on whom you have had a huge crush on, has become awfully fat.

9. If your manager wants to give you a hard time, all he’ll ask is to get things working on Internet Explorer.

10. If you want to get a job you have to learn Java, because apparently the world around you isn’t as bright as you are. So get your bum on Head first java and stuff.

11. Believing in God is not stupid but not locking your car just because you believe in God is.

12. Always wear a helmet while riding or worse, make sure you have sodexho coupons along with you when a cop catches for not wearing a helmet.

13. If you can climb Mt. Everest, you can do anything! (As long as it involves mountain climbing)

14. Care about others and their feelings, but not just all of ‘em.

15. Money is not the important thing on the planet. There is life beyond a BMW and a Villa.

16. If you think it is worth to do stuff for someone, by god! go do it. You might not get the recognition, you might not get the accolades but you’ll have a bloody good story to tell people.

17. Learn to live life, not just survive (And learn to appreciate it when people talk/write in cliches) ;-)

18. And finally, please do tell your stories to people around you, that’s how we grow. If you don’t tell your stories, nobody ever will.

I must have posted some of these on Facebook sometime or might have tweeted some of ‘em, but these are the 18 commandments of life, at least as far as I am concerned. Read it if you want to, ignore it if you don’t care. But don’t make a scene outta it. Period

Oh you!

I adore you more than you could ever know
The price of petrol is sky rocketing, you should know.

You are always with me, you are a part of me
That very fact scares the crap outta me

Long hair you have got, and such a beautiful nose!
There’s nothing you lack, let’s just not talk about commonsense!

Such elegance you have got; I’ve never seen in one
Also the fact that you never let me see another one

You have given me so much to be happy about
Credit card bills, Shopping bills; Oh I get so tired
I couldn’t love you more, even if I tried!

Oh you!

Little things in Life

Those tumbling rumbling of the verses.
Could not drown out the voices.
Voices that said, Spandan ahoy!
And here I sang, Spandan Spandan go away!

That’s how much Spandan was missed

Venturing closer, I gathered her to me
Oh, the perfect geometric shape
Her curves thrilling, her juices stirring
I fell into a trance, a dream that is so deep
Succumbed to desire, I stole a taste.
And yet again, I lost to a PIZZA!

That’s how much I love a Pizza

There I stood, nonchalant.
Admiring the beauty of the place
Arms folded, mind rested, in a state of oblivion
Then it came, a lightening
A lightening that I’d never seen before
Before I knew, I was framed.
Boy it was very short but while it lived
Oh so sweet!

That’s how a friend of mine clicked my pic.

What keeps me going? these little things in life, of course!

The “so called” sweet taste of Freedom

The philosopher in me has been a regular to show up of late. When he does, I go nuts and write about stuff that I wouldn’t have otherwise. He has shown up now, so here it is. Coming from the closet and “trying” to be wise whilst knowing that it’s a far cry. Anyway, it doesn’t hurt to crib about social problems and public attitudes for a while, that’s the only thing all of us can do better than anything else.

Most of us have conveniently forgotten the sweet taste of Liberty or freedom. Or perhaps, we have never experienced it in the first place to have forgotten. For the last week or so, I have seen people in college go home sporting a cheery face echoing the same line – “God, we’re free finally”. On other hand, I witnessed someone being marked and when questioned, the “markers” go, “Freedom of speech you see”. I mean really? Do these exemplify the concept of Freedom? It’s kind of funny how we fail to understand little things in life in spite of we being, [wannabe] intellects.

We would want to work, but we need freedom at it. We would want to be in a relationship, but we need freedom at making our decisions and we call ourselves, self-independent. We want to be working in a bureaucratic setup and we would love big bucks, but we want freedom at earning those. For things to be bettered, we’ve gotta be coming out of the classical mindset of being free to the conventional one. Freedom of speech on public forums and social networking sites, doesn’t mean we could say anything to anyone we want. There’s gotta be a check on what we are supposed to do and we are not supposed to, we live in a rule-based system after all.

The misuse of “Freedom of expression/speech” only makes us look desperate and arrogant. What best defines the way, we have gotta live is the classical – “Live and let live” philosophy. Be expressive and be open and the most important of all, it’s high time we learned to compromise. It’s not a bad thing and it defines your character. Having to compromise on something to make others happy isn’t called downplaying your ego – it’s just called working things out. Sure, no concept should be read into too much or be generalized to everything and I am also not lecturing on compromising on everything, but on somethings you’ve got to. And we have got to figure out for ourselves where to. The world we live in is not really elastic. All of us pay pawns in “The rubber band effect”. There’s only a maximum tension a rubber band could take, beyond which it just blows up. It’s exactly the kind of world we live in. So, we have got to decide for ourselves if we are gonna downplay our “sweet taste of Freedom” to sustain our relationships with people or we’re gonna screw everything up.

Random – One more at it.

I have always believed that the number of people with philanthropic mindsets outnumber the number of ones with misanthropic ideologies. But, I have now kinda realized that the world is neither a philanthropic setup nor a misanthropic one, but an Opportunistic one at it. And, the game we love to play the most, the blame game – oh, talk about it!

This certainly is not going to be another “preachy – preacher” stuff about our social behavior or public attitudes. This one’s more along the lines of how people tend to be too judgmental and how they would go to any extent to defend their egos and their causes, most of the times irrelevant. I understand that every person is entitled to defend their opinion/pride/honor, when being faced with a barrage of caustics. All fair and good – But, being too insecure about the world around you and always trying to relate everything that’s been said and talked, to you and cribbing over it? Well, doesn’t really sound like a cool thing to do.

I once posted something on my Facebook intending some pun about the Karnataka State Day and AP state day. It was ironic, and of course a tad bit funnier to see how people got on to the defensive and some of them even tried to lecture about National Integration and stuff like that. That bit of insecurity in us should blot out. It’s ok to defend but trying to defend something about which you haven’t any clue is depressing. If anything it only shows, either you have been bought by the “ad hominem” or you just feel insecure. It’s just one of the instances and it just doesn’t stop here – the insecurity is everywhere – In Hollywood for example, Asian American actors are only supposed to make identity films barring which they shall be out-casted? Why? Threatened by sheer talent? Politics you say – Recently Hillary Clinton in comparison with Indian folks working in gas stations talked about how Mahatma Gandhi worked in a gas station. Certainly, Mrs.Clinton mightn’t have meant any offense. But to relate a person who had used civil disobedience non-violence to fight the colonial occupation of the British to a disproportionate number of brown folks working in Gas stations is awfully reductionist. Certainly Mrs.Clinton wouldn’t have said something like “Nelson Mandela had played football for 49ers” etc. because the uproar from a statement like that would be irreparable. What I’m basically trying to get at is that, the second type is the tolerance game. They play on your tolerance, it’s like the tranquilizer, you play fair all the time and occasionally you test on the opponent’s tolerance and if they retract, you come back to being fair otherwise, keep pushing a notch further every time. Whatever might be the incentive for this approach, they are not ethical. It’s high time people stopped saying, “We don’t live in an ethical society” – Honest! things change. And, if everyone comes forward to work for the collective well-being the dream planet Earth our fore-fathers had envisioned is not far off.

Third and most important, understanding good humor. God hasn’t given all of us a gift of good humor. But, he’s certainly given us the ability to understand it. Avoid jumping into conclusions right after you read something. Give it a little bit of thought, about the context. And, most important, this urge/tendency to jump into “self-defense” should be avoided. And, the insecurity that people are marking us should disappear. People around us have much better things to do than to invest their time on teaching us lessons or making us realize facts. Offer some resistance when being criticized. It really doesn’t cost or hurt. How much of resistance you offer when being criticized is again a function of an individual’s mental prowess and is not determined by any theory. But, with consistent effort, it can be pushed and stretched by a bit, beyond our natural. Humanists are not born. This is pretty much the cultivation process for them.

These little things can do miracles to our life. How about being a Humanist for a change?
